Job Quote Pricing Worksheet
A line-by-line worksheet that builds a trade job quote from materials, loaded labor, other direct costs, overhead, and target margin so nothing is priced from a gut number.

Underpriced jobs rarely come from bad arithmetic. They come from quoting a number that covers parts and wages, then discovering after the job that the truck, insurance, phone, software, and office hours were never in the price. This worksheet forces every line item through the same four questions: what will the materials cost, how many crew hours will it take at your fully loaded labor rate, what other direct costs are tied to this line, and what share of overhead it must carry. Only after those are answered does a target margin get applied to produce the quote price.
Fill in one row per line item on the quote, using your own figures where the placeholders appear. The last row totals each column so you can sanity-check the whole job at once. The margin math in the final column divides break-even by one minus your target margin rather than multiplying by it, which is the correct way to price for margin; the calculator at /tools/trade-job-quote-margin/ does this automatically, and the article at /blog/pricing-your-work-profitably/ explains why the distinction matters. Typical overhead rates vary widely by trade and region, so use the figure from your own books rather than a borrowed one.
